In the finale, Shepherd performed three times: one cover, one duet with Coach Kelly Clarkson and one performance of an original song called ‘Broken Hearts’ which is currently number one on iTunes.

Shepherd told KOB that she's proud to come from New Mexico and, win or lose, she’s grateful to have been featured on the show.

“I’m like a happy medium, I feel like I did good and I showed them who I am and no matter,  win or lose, I’m just so grateful for this experience,” Chevel said.

Friends, family and fans of Chevel gathered in Farmington to watch the finale.

KOB spoke to Chevel’s father and he said that he’s confident she will bring the win home to New Mexico.

"She's gonna win! All the way. She's the winner. She is the winner," he said.

Voting closes at 5 a.m. MST. Click here to vote
