The Cibola High school cheer team is used to cheering on their Cougars under those bright stadium lights. Now they’re getting a chance to take that energy into the national spotlight. They’ve been invited to do a pre-game performance at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida on New Year’s Day.

But in order to take their skills to the millions who will be watching the bowl game, they have to get to Florida first. The team has to raise about $17,000 by Nov. 1st to pay their way. The clock is ticking, but the cheerleaders are determined.

The team spent their Sunday fundraising at Buffalo Wild Wings. They’ve partnered with the restaurant, that’s now giving 10 percent of diner’s bills back to the cheer team.

To participate, diners have to show a Home Team Advantage Teammate Card to the waiter. The team handed them out Sunday and will do it again next weekend at the restaurant on Coors Blvd. NW.

You can also donate by sending a check to the school with Cibola High School Cheer Team as the recipient.
