ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Cibola County officials said the area is facing a shortage of deputies.

Sheriff Tony Mace said his department is down to seven deputies charged with patrolling the entire county. Grants Police Chief Steve Chavez says he has lost five officers in the last month for higher-paying jobs.
