City council to discuss Netflix-to-New Mexico deal on Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque City Council was supposed to discuss a new deal to bring Netflix productions to the Duke City on Monday.

Instead, that meeting will be held on Thursday. The city wants to provide councilors with more time to consider the proposal, as well as allow more time for public comment.

Netflix is looking to buy Albuquerque Studios and use it as a hub for future projects, representing a huge win for the local economy and film industry.

But the city will first need to approve $4.5 million in incentives.
