ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Non-essential services and city offices in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho are closed Tuesday due to inclement weather conditions.

City officials are encouraging residents to stay home to avoid "extremely poor" driving conditions.

There's been heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures across the state.

ALBUQUERQUE

The city's Department of Municipal Development currently has 30 sanding and plowing trucks working to clear the icy roads.
The Solid Waste Department has canceled residential and commercial trash and recycling pick-up for today. Services will be delayed one day. SWD Convenience Centers will be closed to the public as well.
ABQ Ride has suspended service routes 766 and 777 and is currently seeing delays on ABQ Ride fixed routes and Sun Van services.

RIO RANCHO

City of Rio Rancho offices and facilities are closed.
