ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque's first lady was at UNM Hospital on Friday to bridge generations in the One ABQ Challenge.

Volunteers young and old joined Elizabeth Kirstin Keller to help make cards and provide gifts for pediatric patients.

"The mayor and I are asking everyone in Albuquerque to make time in August for at least one act of service related to this year's theme: connecting youth and elders," she said. "That could be creating a project of your own for your community or volunteering at one that already exists and is posted on the website."

The citywide challenge celebrates organizations working to make a difference in Albuquerque, with a goal of inspiring volunteers to give back to the community.
