1 armed robbery suspect dead, another in custody after officer-involved shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque Police say an armed robbery-turned-police pursuit resulted in an officer-involved shooting in the area of Coal and Yale Saturday afternoon, temporarily shutting down the area.

Officers say two suspects who appear to have both been involved in the robbery of a Verizon off Menaul a few miles away before the pursuit began. It ended at Smith's, where at least six shots were fired, according to viewer video sent in to KOB. 

One suspect died after being taken to the hospital and the other is in custody, APD Spokesperson Simon Drobik said.
