ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A local pizza worker is being hailed as a hero for coming to a woman’s aid after she fell next to a busy intersection on Albuquerque’s West Side.

Dion’s Pizza confirms the teen is one of their employees, but are waiting for his parents’ permission before releasing his name. In the meantime, a witness told KOB they were happy to see chivalry isn't dead.

Anna Allred snapped pictures of the teen getting out of his car and helping the woman, who happens to be blind, back to her feet.

Allred said she was with her four girls on the way to dinner when she noticed cars were stopped near the intersection at Rainbow and Ventana Ranch.

"I just had a split-second to think, 'What's stopping traffic?'” she said. "That's when I saw this kid jump out of his car and start heading across the street, and that's when I saw this blind woman on the floor on her hands and knees."

Now the pictures are garnering a huge response online with many people offering their thanks, and some even gift cards.

"And this is the thing: We know that he was not looking for a reward when he did what he did. It was something that was instinctual and he just acted and that's the beautiful thing," Allred said. "I think people just want to thank him for that. "
