Man arrested for killing father in northwest Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Police have arrested a man for killing his father in northwest Albuquerque Tuesday night.

Dominic Lucero-Sanchez has been booked on an open count of murder.

According to a criminal complaint, police found him a couple of blocks from the scene near Second Street and Montano.

Neighbors told police they heard a man yelling for help and when they walked outside, saw him lying in the driveway of a home, and Lucero-Sanchez was kneeling over him.

Neighbors say the victim, Luis Sanchez, had a knife coming out of his neck.

He was taken to UNM Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Lucero-Sanchez had blood on his hands and clothing when he was arrested.
