ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque and Bernalillo County firefighters have a small fire in the Foothills mostly contained.

The fire torched about seven acres near the Elena Gallegos Open Space Tuesday afternoon. Crews have it 80 percent contained and expect full containment tonight.

A spokesperson said the blaze threatened 10 homes and caused burn damage to three.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe County and Edgewood fire crews began battling a brush fire Tuesday afternoon just north of Edgewood. It's burning just off of Simmons Road.

Santa Fe County firefighters reported flames as high as 5 feet. There was no word on acreage or a cause.
