ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Joy Junction announced Wednesday that its founder and CEO Jeremy Reynalds died. Joy Junction released a statement saying Reynalds died after fighting a long-term illness.
Reynalds founded what would become New Mexico's largest emergency homeless shelter in 1986.
“Dr. Reynalds was an example of Jesus Christ’s love to so many people,” said Brian Nixon, secretary the Joy Junction Board of Directors. “His commitment to breaking the cycle of homelessness reached thousands of lives.”
Reynalds migrated to Albuquerque from England and ended up homeless.
He would eventually make it off the streets and into a classroom, earning a Ph.D.
Reynalds was 60 years old.
Joy Junction announced that the memorial service for Reynalds is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 at Calvary Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
