Riordan's husband begins memorial service on humorous note Web Staff

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Michael Riordan began Sunday evening's memorial service for his wife not on a somber note, but rather a humorous and joyful one.


"Why's everybody so quiet? This is a celebration," he said to laughs in the Popejoy Hall crowd. "Jennifer was 10 minutes late to our wedding, so I'm paying her back a little bit."

Over the next few minutes, Riordan welcomed those in attendance and took a moment to cherish the room's supportive atmosphere before acknowledging those in the audience before asking those who have been impacted by his late wife in various ways to stand.
