ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Lobos will be expecting a lot from wide receiver Jay Griffin this season.

Griffin broke out as a freshmen last year, leading the Lobos in receiving yards and touchdowns.

"It felt pretty good. The numbers I put up still weren't what I expected them to be, but I feel like this year, with this offense, I'll be able to do better and add onto that," Griffn.

The Lobos have a new offensive coordinator this year and Griffin has been busy studying the new playbook with his fellow receivers.

“During the summer we got together on our own and went over the plays, did a lot of stuff by ourselves,” Griffin said. “I feel like that helped us coming into this fall camp because we already knew what was going on."

The dedication gave griffin and a great head start to training camp and he plans on being ready when the team starts the season.

The Lobos take on Incarnate Word on September 1.
