LOS ALAMOS, N.M. – Los Alamos police have arrested and charged a man in a string of burglaries after they say a tip from a KOB story led them to identify and charge a suspect who was already in custody in another county.

In total, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, jewelry, and other items were taken from three homes in April. Police believe the same suspect(s) are responsible.

During one of the burglaries, police say a victim’s passport and credit cards were taken. The cards were used that same day in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. The victim’s passport was used as identification for the cards in the transactions.

According to police, the suspect received thousands of dollars in cash and purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise. Investigators were able to obtain surveillance video from each location and get a clear view of the primary suspect and another male.

One person has been charged in this case. Police have not yet released the name of the suspect and it's not clear whether another suspect is still outstanding.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Los Alamos Police Department (505) 662-8282.
