ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Emotions run high for college basketball fans during the month of March, but Bernalillo County deputies say one man took his frustration to another level when he held his girlfriend against her will.

Samuel Goodhope's girlfriend told officials he became upset while watching a game Thursday and wouldn't let her leave his home.

Court documents state Goodhope repeatedly pushed her to the ground and took away her phone.

When deputies arrived they noticed that Goodhope's girlfriend had a black eye, as well as several scratches on her body.

Goodhope was arrested and is being charged with false imprisonment.
