Mariano Gallegos is accused of shooting Enrique Gonzalez outside a house near San Mateo and Central Thursday night.

A witness told police that the two got into an argument before he heard a gunshot.

Gonzalez managed to leave in his vehicle and flagged down a person who was skateboarding.

Gonzalez eventually pulled over into a McDonald’s parking lot and the skateboarder called 911.

Emergency crews rushed Gonzalez to UNM Hospital.

Before surgery, he told an officer that Gallegos shot him.

Gallegos was out of jail, awaiting trial for shooting a different man who was leaving a restaurant in July.
