Man killed in altercation on ABQ's West Side

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Albuquerque police are investigating the death of a person who was involved in an altercation near Coors and Central.

Officers were dispatched to the area around 8 p.m. Thursday. Police said a woman had called and said her brother was beat up by two other people. When police arrived, they found Albuquerque Fire Rescue was already on scene providing medical care. The man had sustained severe trauma to his face and head. 

Police said he died at a local hospital.

Detectives conducted interviews on scene and canvassed for surveillance video. Police have not said if they have made any arrests.

The homicide investigation is ongoing.
