BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. - Voters in Bernalillo County have chosen to re-elect Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales.

Gonzales won as the incumbent, sweeping more than 54-percent of the vote.

Republican challenger Lou Golson took to Twitter Wednesday morning to offer his appreciation for those who came out to support him.

KOB's Chris Ramirez caught up with Gonzales shortly after he was predicted to take the race to talk about some of the issues he faced during this election. One, in particular, having to do with some backlash he has faced in not having his deputies wear body cameras.

"I'm always open to the technology portion of law enforcement the most open-minded head of agency and make rational decisions," said Gonzales.
