MDC escapee killed in Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A man who escaped from the Metropolitan Detention Center in June has been killed in Mexico.

Bernalillo County officials said that Duwin Perez was shot and killed on August 18 in Chihuahua, Mexico.

As KOB previously reported, Perez used false information, identifying himself as his cellmate to escape from custody.

Perez had been held at the jail on charges of attempting to commit a felony, shooting at or from a car, aggravated battery, car theft, drug trafficking, conspiracy, and racketeering
