ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Metropolitan Court judges gave back to their employees on Wednesday.

During their annual holiday luncheon, the judges served lunch to more than 300 court employees. The judges and administrators paid for the meals to show their appreciation for all the hard work their staff does all year.

Chief Justice Edward Benavidez said it's a good opportunity to sit back and relax.

"All the employees do have extremely difficult jobs here," he said. "They're busy throughout the course of the day, so it's nice to have this opportunity to relax a little bit over lunch and chat with the judges and everyone else. And it's just a good time for everyone involved."

Perico's catered the meal.
