However, police are still looking for two other suspects they believe forced students out of their car at the A Lot on Redondo.

"It did shock me into reality to say, ‘hey you know what, be extra cautious and take precautions to protect yourself,’" said Shaya Golafshani, who attends the university.

According to investigators, 18-year-old Scott Aaron Gibbs was one of three men who carjacked three UNM students at gunpoint Friday.

Police say Gibbs and the two other suspects demanded the victims’ keys, phones and wallets.

According to UNM’s president, there was a similar incident reported on Las Lomas, east of Yale on Sept. 30.

No one was hurt in either carjacking.
