"I guess in a way it's like giving birth to a baby," Said Dave Dooling who is the Education Director at New Mexico Museum of Space History.

Dooling said the excitement of it all is natural. The space engineers couldn't be happier.

The goal of the spacecraft is to give an inside look at mars. The instruments measure many aspects of Mars, including how quickly the planet cools off on the inside. It even scopes out the rotation of how Mars changes.

It is the first mission to study the interior of Mars, and definitely won't be the last.
