ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A proposed development along Albuquerque's Bosque is moving forward, despite neighbors' best efforts to stop it.

The Namaste development would add 70 homes on a plot of land along the Bosque on the West Side.

Around a dozen people showed up to the Developmental Review Board meeting Wednesday.

Kathy Adams, who lives in the La Luz Landowners Association, next to the property where the Namaste development would be built, said it would be bad for the surrounding open space and the animals that rely on it.

"We're concerned about lot of things and we feel that this cart before the horse," Adams said.

However, the board decided to move the proposal forward, with a 5-0 vote.

The development faces an environmental planning meeting next and neighbors plan to be there to show their opposition.

"We oppose this variance because we think it's very dangerous," Adams said.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 13.
