NM to receive $7.7M for education from feds

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico is getting a boost from the federal government to pay for the education of at-risk youth.

Officials with the Public Education Department announced Friday that the state will receive $7.7 million from the new Direct Student Services initiative, a product of the Every Student Succeeds Act.

PED claims New Mexico is the first state to fully unlock the funding opportunity for at-risk students.
