ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Mother Nature shone brightly for the opening day of the Mile Hi Farmer's Market at Alvarado Park on Sunday.

The market provides a space for nearby residents to promote health and wellness in their community—as well as a way for people to get out and meet their neighbors.

"I love this market. It's small, it's friendly (and) it gives me a chance not only to sell the products, but to get to know the people that come to the market," Susan Maupin said. "I have been to larger markets and they're a little bit frantic for me."

The Mile Hi Farmer's Market will continue through October.
