ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in southeast Albuquerque, near Bell Avenue and Grove Street.

Police were pursuing a stolen vehicle and used spike strips to stop it, causing it to crash into another car. The force caused the second car to hit a fire hydrant. Police say the suspect fled on foot and brandished a firearm at officers before they fired shots.

The suspect sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. His name has not been released.

No officers were injured.
