ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The parents accused of abusing a 7-year-old girl were formally charged in separate indictments Thursday.

Authorities say James Stewart and Teri Sanchez forced the girl into sex trafficking.

Stewart was indicted on counts of human trafficking, criminal sexual contact of a minor, child abuse and promoting prostitution. Sanchez was indicted on counts of child abuse and a count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

They will both remain in jail until their trial.
