15-year-old pedestrian killed in northwest Albuquerque crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Albuquerque Police Department is searching for a vehicle that may have been involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash on Coors Bypass at Ellison.

Police said the dark blue GMC Sierra pickup, which was reported stolen, fled from an officer who attempted a traffic stop early Wednesday morning..

According to police, a 15-year-old pedestrian, Manuel Tapia, was hit by the truck and died as a result of his injuries at UNM Hospital.

The truck's license plate reads "716TJC". People should call Crime Stoppers at 843-STOP if they spot the truck.

In addition to the truck, police are asking for help identifying the people pictured at Route 66 Casino. Police believe they may have information about the crash.
