FARMINGTON, N.M. - Police have identified a suspect wanted in the double shooting of two women in Farmington.

Officers are looking for 41-year-old Pedro "Peter" Lucero of Albuquerque. He's wanted for first-degree murder, shooting from a motor vehicle and felon in possession of a firearm.

Police say he shot multiple rounds into the back of an SUV occupied by multiple people.

24-year-old Francine Delgado was shot in the lower back and later died at the hospital. Another woman was shot in the buttock, but she was treated and released.

Police are searching for Lucero in Farmington but say he may be in the Albuquerque area and possibly heading to Mexico.

Lucero is also wanted on an active federal probation violation related to charges on methamphetamine trafficking and another warrant out of Bernalillo County for breaking and entering.

Detectives are also looking to interview Miguel (Mikey) Hernandez of Farmington. He is not a suspect but is believed to be with Lucero.

Anyone with information on Lucero's whereabouts is asked to call police.
