ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Friends and family honored the life of 28-year-old Alyssa Barboa Wednesday night.

She was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash.

"She was a partier. She was fun, always had a good time. She was the best person you'd want to go to when you were down because she would bring you up right after," said Alyssa's friend Alicia Vasquez.

Dozens of people showed up at Tom Tenorio Park to remember Barboa. Her friends said she loved playing softball at the park.

Police say 24-year-old Casey Zuni was the driver of the car that smashed into Alyssa's at the intersection of Comanche and Pennsylvania.

As of Wednesday night, police said Zuni was in the hospital. Once he is released, he will face a number of charges.
