ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque Police say a man was found dead from gunshot wounds in the North Valley early Saturday afternoon, bringing the 2018 homicide count to nearly two dozen for the city.

12th Street and Candelaria Road is shut down while police investigate what they say has been deemed a violent crimes callout. The victim was identified by police as 24-year-old Cody Fair.

A GoFundMe has been set up by Fair's family to help pay for funeral services.

After questioning witnesses at the location, APD Spokesperson Simon Drobik said detectives are searching for a white 2003 Ford Escape with no license plate that they believe is involved in the incident. Despite lacking a plate, Drobik said the car does have a bill of sale displayed in the back window.

Anyone with information as to the vehicle's location or the incident as a whole is asked to contact police at (505)843-STOP.
