ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Police failed to locate a homicide suspect in Albuquerque's Bosque Wednesday.
Officers, police dogs and drones spent hours trying to find the man who shot and killed a person at a bus stop Wednesday morning.
Police said the homicide took place outside the Central Grill, near Old Town, around 8 a.m.
A woman who works at Central Grill said another witness told her the gunman stole the victim's bike before shooting him.
Police reopened the Bosque Open Space around 6:30 p.m. after an unsuccessful search.
"At this time, officers lost the individual in the Bosque," said APD Chief Michael Geier.
Tactical units searched nearby neighborhoods but also came up empty. However, Chief Geier insisted that the search wouldn't end Wednesday night.
"Our detectives are going to work every angle, every possible lead," Chief Geier said. "We are going to make our best attempt to take this individual into custody."
