Police: Officer fired shot during altercation with wanted man

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Police say an officer fired his gun during an altercation with a wanted man.

It happened near Coors and I-40 Tuesday night.

Police say detectives were conducting an investigation into a man wanted for outstanding felony warrants. When an officer tried to pull the man over, the offender fled from officers in his car and later took off on foot.

According to police, the man did not listen to orders given by the officers and an altercation ensued.

One officer fired his gun during the altercation and the man was taken into custody. No one was hurt.

Detectives are now investigating the incident.
