TAOS, N.M. - A man accused of raping three children is expected in court tomorrow.
29-year-old Raymond Hernandez was arrested on Jan. 14 for sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter. Police say that it was after giving the daughter and her friend alcohol.
Judge Ernest Ortega released Hernandez on a $10,000 bond and ordered him to wear a GPS ankle monitor. Just two days later, Hernandez was charged with raping a 19-month-old girl who lived in the same house.
Judge Ortega released Hernandez again, this time on a $20,000 bond.
That same day, Hernandez was accused of raping a 5-year-old girl, next door.
Authorities arrested Hernandez again this past Sunday, and he remains in custody now.
“I’m speechless, he needs to pay and I hope the judge puts him behind bars and keep him there,” neighbor Gloria Lucero said.
The district attorney says he hopes to secure an indictment this week before Hernandez sees a judge again on Thursday.
Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe suspects there are even more victims. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Taos County Sheriff's Department at (575) 737-6480.
