RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The massive makeover of one of Rio Rancho’s busiest streets had some business owners anxious about going into the 2018 holiday season.

But some said the orange cones aren’t scaring away shoppers as they had feared.

Harris Jewelers in Rio Rancho are just as busy this year as they were last year at this time.

According to Karen Fitzpatrick, vice-president of Harris Jewelers said sales are up.

“It's been great; we've got a loyal base of clientele that will brave anything to get to our store,” Fitzpatrick said.

Other businesses in the area like Turtle Mountain Brewery are seeing increases in sales as well.
