ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - People looking to get out of town may have encountered some roadblocks Thursday morning.
According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, a semi flipped over on I-25 near Broadway in southeast Albuquerque and forced officials to close both directions of I-25 for hours.
It’s unclear what caused the accident. However, authorities told KOB the vehicle spilled somewhere between 200 and 500 gallons of fuel.
Dozens of emergency crews responded including New Mexico State Police, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and a hazmat team.
Both directions of I-25 were opened later Thursday afternoon.
No injuries were reported, according to officials.
Update- AFR Crews have successfully completed Stinger Operations and are now offloading the contents to another tanker. Thanks to @BerncoFire for assisting with the operation, a great example of a team effort. @iafflocal244 pic.twitter.com/VLr7WR2BNb— Albuquerque Fire (@abqfire) July 4, 2019
