Charlie's Spic and Span is a popular spot in town.

"It's been here since the early 1960s. It's got a lot of history," said owner Charlie Sandoval.

He says the food draws in locals and visitors alike.

"The bakery has made it good. The tortillas are making it famous. It's just been a place where people can gather and they feel comfortable," he said.

The hot springs and Dwan Light Sanctuary are also spots locals brag about.

The attractions are both located on the United World College campus.

However, it’s the Montezuma Castle that’s sure to get everyone’s attention.

"That was built as a spa. You know, because the hot springs are there,” said Joan Krohn, a Las Vegas resident. “[It} burned down twice."

Today, people will find a dining hall and a dormitory inside the old hotel.

And it’s hotels that many people in Las Vegas talk about.

“I stayed at the Plaza Hotel," said Steve Soliz told Krohn. She responding by saying, “That's probably our finest hotel. The El Fidel is going to be renovated and it'll be great and then the Castaneda.”

The Castaneda was once a Harvey House, sitting next to the city's train station.

"Las Vegas has more buildings on the historic registry than Albuquerque," Krohn said.

Music is also a celebrated art in Las Vegas. New Mexico Highlands University has a popular music program.

Steve Soliz popped into a music store to play the piano and learn some guitar. You can watch the video on the KOB 4 Facebook page.
