ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - People can now track flights and let the Sunport know if they’re not happy with all the noise planes are making.

The Sunport launched an interactive website that will show people which flights are flying over their home. The website is also equipped with other tools that will allow users to see the plane’s altitude, speed, and range of noise it’s making.

“You can actually go back in time so you can see what plane flew over what areas of Albuquerque,” said Albuquerque’s Aviation Director Nyika Allen.

Before the website was launched, one person would answer calls and listen to voicemails about noise complaints.

Allen says this new system will be more efficient.

“Now we can actually track, you know, where those noise complaints are coming from, who's bothered by flights and take steps from there,” said Allen.

Some people who live near the airport seem happy about the new website.

“We bought our house and we knew we were close to the airport and we understand that. We're not hugely upset about it. We just want to be informed,” said Mike Osborn.
