TAOS, CO., N.M. - The five adults who were arrested after a raid on their compound in northern New Mexico will appear in court today.
Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, Hujrah J. Wahhaj, Lucas Allen Morton, Jany N. Leveille and Subhannah Wahhaj could all learn whether they will have to remain in jail until their trial. They all face child abuse charges.
Court documents allege the children who were rescued from the compound were training to commit school shootings. The Taos County sheriff is expected to talk more about allegations in court today.
Siraj Ibn Wahhaj was also wanted for kidnapping his son Abdul-ghani Wahhaj in December. The boy's mother says Wahhaj was supposed to take the boy to the park, but he never returned. The Taos County sheriff said he believes remains found at the site of the compound are those of the Georgia Boy, but authorities are still waiting for the office of the medical investigator to make a positive identification.
