ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - An exotic pet store in Albuquerque has, once again, become a target for thieves.

JT Daniels, who owns Desert Reef and Exotics, watched surveillance video as a couple walked through his store, grabbed two big bird cages, bird seed, and bird stands before quickly walking out.

"I was almost shocked at first, like did that really just happen," said Daniels.

Daniels and one of his employees ran after the couple and confronted them in the parking lot before they drove off.

"It was like the slowest robbery ever,” said Daniels. “The slowest get away. They were still trying to load up and I was just like, ‘What are y’all doing? Are you kidding me?’"

Daniels was able to take a picture of the thieves' license plate as they drove away, which he turned over to police.

This wasn't the first time thieves have targeted Daniel's store. In August of 2017, a thief stole an exotic turtle.
