It happened just before 10 a.m. Thursday on Wyoming near Academy.

Police say the three women were driving in a 2001 Mercedes-Benz and as the driver attempted to make a westbound turn from Wyoming onto Cubero another car traveling southbound on Wyoming hit them.

82-year-old Marie Roark and Peggy Jojola died on the scene. The 85-year-old driver, who has not yet been identified, later died from her injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.

Investigators found the Mercedes failed to yield to the right of way. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and police say even though speed was also not determined to be a factor, investigators plan to complete a reconstruction of the crash to make a final determination.
