ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The latest unemployment figures have been released from the state, showing continuing recent positive trends for New Mexico.

Statewide unemployment dipped by a small margin to 4.6 percent in August, down from 4.7 a month before but by much more from 12 months prior, when unemployment in New Mexico stood at six percent.

This is the ninth consecutive month that the unemployment rate has continued to fall in the Land of Enchantment. The trend mirrors the improvements made locally in the Albuquerque metro.

The figures are still better on a national level. The unemployment rate for the whole country in August was 3.9 percent.
