ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Year's Eve celebrations were damp but not dampened by rain and winter storm conditions moving into the area Friday.
Rain began to fall in Santa Fe during the evening, as people began to gather at the Plaza for the annual celebration:
Albuquerque received some rain near the turn of the new year that rolled in from the west, including from Grants where rain fell Friday evening.
Heavy snowfall is expected to accumulate in higher elevations, especially in the northern mountains where some places may see a foot of snow or more.
