ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- An Albuquerque woman tried to take matters into her own hands after a person threw a rock through her vehicle's window.

Rosemarie Baca called 911 immediately after someone threw a rock through her vehicle's window while it was parked on the side of the road.

But Baca didn't wait for police to locate the vandal. Instead, she followed the crook, despite pleas from the 911 dispatcher.

"Ok, what you have to realize, if you keep following them, they could have a gun and they could shoot at you. That's why, that's why we don't want you to follow them," the dispatcher told Baca.

Baca responded by saying, " I want them to be caught, that's not even right."

The 911 dispatcher eventually convinced Baca to go to the nearest police station and wait for help.

However, Baca says an officer never showed up.

"They wanted me to wait at a dark police substation, by myself, with a broken window, distraught and traumatized until a police officer came and they never came," she said.

Baca filed a police report online and APD says they are looking into the mater.

Police say it is going to be difficult to track down the vandal because the description of the vehicle - a gray dodge charger - is not very detailed.

Baca paid $300 out of pocket to get her window fixed.
