Man accused of killing fiancé in southwest Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Albuquerque Police are investigating a homicide in southwest Albuquerque.

It happened in the early morning hours Wednesday. Officers were called to the area of Gonzales Road and Bataan in reference to a domestic violence incident.

The dispatcher said a man reported that he killed his fiancé by choking her and then attempted to kill himself.

Officers arrived at the home and detained the man and found a woman's body inside the residence.

The man, who police said stabbed himself, was taken to UNM Hospital for treatment.
