ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Like most college basketball programs, the Aggies have had to add quite a few players to their roster.

"It's just the way college basketball is right now with a high number of transfers," said Head Coach Chris Jans.

Jans adds that he'll know what he has as soon as he gets them on the floor. He believes that he'll have a senior and junior dominated team.

"I'm not one of these guys who gets over the moon about our recruits," he said. "Certainly, we like them. That's why we signed them to scholarships. I'm more of a wait-and-see mode. I think you know a lot more about kids when you coach him for a month or two."

The Aggies went 23-6 last season. NMSU lost to their rivals, UNM and UTEP.

Jans says he loves playing the Lobos and the Miners twice every season, and he says it means a lot to the folks in Las Cruces and to the Aggie administration.

"I look forward to those games. We have embraced the rivalry games," he said.

The Aggies and the Lobos will open in the Pit on Nov. 21 and then in the Pan American Center on Dec. 5.
