RENO, NV- Once upon a time, Paul Weir worked for Steve Alford in Iowa. Now, they will go head-to-head when the Lobos take on Nevada in Reno.

“Coaching here against him is gonna be one thing,” said Alford, who previously coached at UNM. “Coaching against them in The Pit, which I consider a second home to me, that's gonna be a little different feeling.”

The Lobos will be shorthanded against the Wolf Pack. They are without four original starters, including JaQuan Lyle and Vance Jackson. Both players are recovering from knee injuries.

"I think any team down four starters or players is going to do something different," Weird said. "Thankfully, we did the good side of that."
