ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The UNM football team has an opportunity Saturday to pull off a huge upset.

They take on Notre Dame in South Bend.

The team will spend the week practicing before heading to Indiana on Friday.

Acting head coach Saga Tuitele said the team can’t get overwhelmed by the occasion.

“I know it's a cliché but you have to take it one play at a time,” Tuitele said. “We will do enough on Friday when we get there to get all the awe out of our players.”

Coach Bob Davie will not make the trip to Notre Dame. He is still recovering from a medical episode he suffered after the first game of the season.

He is optimistic that he will make a complete recovery.

“The problem has been alleviated with no setbacks,” Davie said. “I should expect-- from what I've heard from the doctors-- a full recovery and there was no permanent damage.”

The UNM vs. Notre Dame game will air on KOB 4 at 12:30 p.m.
