Davie sits out of upcoming Lobo versus Aggies game

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— Lobo head coach Bob Davie won’t be present for the upcoming against the Aggies Saturday.


Last month, Davie suffered from a health episode during the Lobo game against Sam Houston State. This is the second week in a row that Davie has been sidelined while Interim Head Coach Saga Tuitele takes the lead.

During a Wednesday practice, Tuitele said it was good having Davie at practice and that he looks forward to his official return.

"To have him back, almost full-go, hearing his voice and him getting after it and competing. Today was really good to have him back. It was nice — it's like he's back," Tuitele said.

Lobo quarterback Tevaka Tuioti said Davie has had a big influence on the team.

"You know, he has a tremendous impact on the team so you know him not being there he's with us spiritually so I know the guys are going to do great,” Tuioti said.

For now, UNM fans will have to wait awhile longer.
