ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- Former New Mexico State University basketball player Pascal Siakam was named the NBA's Most Improved Player.

He beat out De-Aaron Fox and D'Angelo Russell for the honor.

The former Aggie averaged 16 points this season and helped the Toronto Raptors win their first NBA title.

"I want to thank the Raptors believing in me," he said. "

Siakam said the Raptors allowed him to play the game that he loves.
